What is Outreach?

Part of FIRST Tech Challenge is going out into your community and making a positive impact. Emerson Robotics believes that Outreach is just as – if not more – important as the robot. This season we completed 40+ Outreaches. Our focus was on girls and kids.

Girls

Did you know that women only make up 34% the STEM field?

We want to change that statistic. Girls need a place in FIRST too! Our method to push change is through international initiative of #FIRSTLikeAGirl.

Kids

We want to introduce the youngest members of our communities to robotics.

From presenting at lower school assemblies to running a table at Washtenaw Promise’s block party, we want to spark curiosity at a young age. These kids are the next generation of innovators!
